There are two Laboratories dedicated for training of electrical machines, they are equipped with conventional and modern Electrical and Electronics measuring equipments such as power supplies, digital multimeters, laser tachometers, Frequency meters, Power factor meters, Torque meter, Analogue/Digital Ammeters and Voltmeters, Power quality analyzers and various AC and DC Electrical Machines.
The machines includes DC motors and generators, AC three phase and single phase machines such as Synchronous generators, Synchronous motors, Induction motors and Transformers. To achieve electrical loading there are three phase and single phase variable resistive, inductive and capacitive loads.
In the new Machines Laboratory, the students are exposed to modern machines control technologies such as PLCs, variable speed drives, variable frequency drives, computerized electrical measurements and automatic power factor correction among many others.
These Laboratories caters for the practical need of Under Graduate Students in their Third, Fourth and Fifth year. This enables the students to easily understand the basics, investigate and analyse various operation characteristics of different electrical machines.
