The senate has approved the revised syllabus for BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering programme. This syllabus will be implemented starting with the first years who will join in September 2022.

The University of Nairobi is part of a consortium of 4 public Universities comprising of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenyatta University (JKUAT) and Technical University of Kenya that was awarded a research grant worth three million shillings towards the development of a 3U Nanosatellite.
Engineering students from the University of Nairobi (UoN) are among students from other universities set to benefit from a mentorship programme organized by the Institution of Engineers in Kenya (IEK).

Today the department hosted a group of Starehe girls from kiambu who were on an education visit to the university. They toured various labs in the department whereby they were taken through the various activities that take place in the labs. They were accompanied by their physics teacher Mr. Mwai. The tour will help them make informed career choices
The Department received a visiting Professor, Prof. Chris Hendriks from Netherlands to conduct training on Raspberry Pi program for both the staff and the Post graduate students. This is geared towards enhancing the use of Robotics.

The department has been engaged in various activities ranging from Research, consultancies and even servicing other Universities through conducting Lab exercise to their students.
This has been enabled by the department receiving donation of equipment through MOEST/ADB Project.
