HIGH VOLTAGE LABORATORY

The High Voltage Laboratory is a graduate research and undergraduate teaching laboratory. It specializes in the measurement and testing of all types of electrical insulation systems, ranging from insulators on air lines, solid and liquid insulation materials, and components of Electric Power
Engineering.

The students get to understand electric field and high voltage phenomena, corona effect, audio voltage, visual voltage and breakdown voltage of different types of insulators. The practicals are particularly geared towards the use of live-line techniques for transmission and distribution system
