These are some of the collaborations the department of Electrical and Information Engineering is engaged in:

  • Department is part of the effort to establish a Biomedical Engineering degree course at the University in collaboration with international partners.
  • Department is actively involved in efforts to design a degree in Instrumentation and Control in collaboration with an international partner
  • Collaboration with Villanova University, Pennsylvania, USA for student and faculty exchange as well as sharing in engineering research projects
  • Collaboration with Johns Hopkins University,Centre for Bioengineering Innovation and Design, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Baltimore, USA for student and faculty exchange as well as sharing in engineering research projects
  • MoU drafts with Siemens and Centurion Systems
  • Many staff members maintain links with former student colleagues, and/or former academic supervisors and professors in foreign universities where they studied.
  • Dr. Cyrus Wekesa is a participant in curriculum development for African Cotton & Textile Industries Federation (ACTIF) Centre of Excellence, focusing on electrical engineering discipline. The Centre of Excellence is expected to be run from Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Authority, Athi River.
