SOS Children’s Village Mombasa is home to good number of children who are no longer able to live with their parents. These children have the opportunity to experience a real childhood in an SOS family, alongside their SOS brothers and sisters and under the care of an affectionate SOS Mother.
SOS Children’s Villages places central value on education and works to provide educational assistance to children growing up in children’s villages, those participating in any form of the family strengthening programme, and all vulnerable children and young people in the communities they work in.
In order for the SOS to realize their mission and vision in supporting the orphans, apart from their limited resources, they need help from various citizens and government within the country to be able to provide effectively to the children. Due to this end because of a giving heart, that University of Nairobi is training all its members to appreciate, the College of Architecture and Engineering through the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, provided support to the SOS Children’s Village Mombasa by donating foodstuff. Third year students and staff also contributed to this valuable support. The Department assured them of their support as they always do every year.
