SPEED CONTROL OF A PERMANENT MAGNET DC MOTOR USING A DSP

Speed control of a dc motor is a very important part of the industry today. Many industrial applications require the rotation of dc motors at different speeds.

This project is about controlling the speed of a permanent magnet dc motor. A DSP is used as the digital controller in this case. A closed loop system is to be built by obtaining the output speed as the feedback. A closed loop transfer function is also obtained for the system.

Simulation is done in both the open loop and closed loop system. Results of the simulations and the practical results are obtained and compared.
